Anthopology and/or money

Anthropology and/or Money

Well, I think that if the people enter to study anthropology is because they aren’t so interested in money. In my personal case, for me, obviously, money is important, but I don’t choose this career for win money. For me is more important the anthropology than the money, because I think that if you has to choose a profession, must choose to do what you like. And I like the social sciences so much, and particulary anthropology. It is my ideal work area, but I know that if I want to work in anthropology in the future, I didn’t make much money.

I think that anthropology is a career in that you don’t make much money, because the labor camp is very limited, and there is little demand for anthropologist. For this reason, the people that choose anthropology, should know and decide about money case, but is impossible that you enter to this career to win money.

I think that in most cases, for anthropologist is difficult to make money, but also influences in what area you seeking work. For example, if you want work to privet enterprises, you have more possibilities to win more money, and in some cases, you can win a lot of money. But this cases are minority, and often entail an ethical problem, because when the anthropologist work for a privet enterprises, can only do what the company needs, putting aside personal interests, and social interests.
Usually, the social issues have poor remuneration because neither the state nor the private funds have great interest in developing projects related to these issues.

I don’t think that an anthropologist can´t find work, but I think that perhaps the main problem is to finding work in the area what you like to work. The anthropologist can work postulating to state projects, or state funds. This cases, the work area is in human development issues, but today in the world, and particulary in Chile, this issues are very limited, because the government promotes projects on subjects that having to do with global policies covered by a limited paradigm that does not cover all areas where it is necessary to develop cultural studies, and therefore does not cover the whole spectrum of issues on which can unfold an anthropologist.

The matter is further complicated when it comes to developing theoretical anthropology, because in this case, there is even less agencies interested in funding research that have no obvious practical application

Well, that is the issues.

On the other hand, today I'm not making money, because I don' t have much time to work, but I need to make some money for pay my expenses, but probably in the summer, when I have more free time, I gotta a job.

music

Well, I don’t have a favorite kind of music because I like a lot of different styles, singers and songs. In general, I like the latinamerican music. It’s a very general category, but I like almost the whole latinamerican music (I like the rock, the folklore, etc.)

I don’t feel that I have a favorite band or singer, because it’s different in the time, it’s depends on many circumstances, but in this moment the music to that more I listen is from charly garcía, but I like so much the music from Argentina in general, especially the rock music from the 80`s, but also, one of my favorite music styles is the tango.
I have a lot of favorite songs, most of they are from charly Garcia: they are “filosofia barata y zapatos de goma”, “pasajera en trance”, “asesiname” and “cinema verité”. Also, I like the music from the old bands of charly, serú girán y sui generis. Of the latter, my favorite sing are “el dia que apagaron la luz”, and “usame un poquito mas”. From the tango, my favorite sings are “volver”, “milonga sentimental”, “nostalgias”, “anclao en Paris”, “malena”, and “garganta con arena”. And my favorite singer is Carlos Garden, of course!
I’ve gone go to concerts in many times. The first time was when I had fourteen years old. On this occasion I went to see to fito paez, and in the next time, I went to see charly garcía. Also, I’ve gone to see joe vasconcellos, los jaivas, inti Illimani, manuel Garcia, los tres, vicentico, la mano ajena, etc.
Well, really, I don’t play any musical instrument. In the school, I learned to play some flute, but now I forget it
